Get started

Create an order

Base URL https://api.routepays.com/v1. JSON in, JSON out.

Four headers per request: key id, timestamp, nonce and an HMAC-SHA256 signature
Requests older than five minutes and repeated nonces are refused
Send your own order id as the Idempotency-Key to make retries safe
Redirect the customer to checkout_url; we return them to your return_url

Webhooks you can trust

Signed

Every delivery carries a timestamp and an HMAC signature over the raw body. Verify it before acting.

Retried

Failed deliveries are retried with back-off; each event has a stable id so you can de-duplicate.

Complete

order.paid, order.expired, order.held, order.settled, payout.approved, payout.succeeded and payout.failed.

Before you go live

Create an API key in the dashboard; the secret is shown once and belongs on your server only.
Set your webhook URL (confirmed with your passkey) and send a test event.
Every order is a real order. Run your first end-to-end test with a small amount.
